Forwarded message

A little while ago, an old friend send me a text message. He was forwarding this following text

Kalau kamu Islam, jangan tulis mosque tapi masjid karena organisasi islam menemukan bahwa mosque = mosquito = nyamuk, tulis muhammad jangan mohd = anjing, tulis assalamualaikum jangan ass = pantat, tulis Mekkah jangan mecca = rumah bir. Sebarkan ini ke rekan-rekan muslim.

First of all, this is crap. Utter hoax. Which Islam organization would give this statement, aside of fictional organization? The fact is so wrong it will make you look stupid if you try to publicize it.

The word mosque is derived from Italian and Spanish mosquee which in turn is derived from Arabian masjid. Mosquito is derived from Latin musca, mhich means “fly”. Closely related, huh ?

I can’t find mohd word on any online dictionary, so I assume that it was made up by the text original sender. Mecca is defined as a place which attracts people of particular group or interests. This word is, expectedly, derived from Mecca, the English translation for Mekkah. No relation with pub whatsoever.

Even ass primary definition isn’t your…you know. Ass, derived from Celtic word assa, is a family of donkey, Equus asinus. That, until some stupid Yankee put that word on their slang vocabulary and associate it to….well, you know what I mean.

The last part of text message above confirm it status as a chain message. “Forward this to as much people as possible”. Please, if you ever get text messages that tells you to forward it, DELETE THEM RIGHT AWAY. Doing it is a waste of time and money, and if the receiver happens to be a person with reason, it will annoy them a lot and think twice of your credibility.
